Dom DeLuise
August 1, 1933 – May 4, 2009
"It's easy to mourn his death, but easier to remember a time when he made you laugh."
- Message in the front page of domdeluise.com
I was thinking the other day about this. As you get older you think about this more and more, I was dreading this moment. Dom always made everyone feel better when he was around. I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone. I will miss him very much,"
- Burt Reynolds Actor and Co-Star with Dom in 'The Cannonball Run,' 'Smokey and The Bandit II,' 'The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas'
Dom DeLuise was a big man in every way. He was big in size and created big laughter and joy. He will be missed in a very big way."

They mention this story from Cleveland,Ohio
From MSNBC:
When Connie Culp heard a little kid call her a monster because of the shotgun blast that left her face horribly disfigured, she pulled out her driver’s license to show the child what she used to look like. Years later, as the nation’s first face transplant recipient, she’s stepped forward to show the rest of the world what she looks like now.
This story is something that came out of the old TV Show "That Incerabled"

From The NY Times:
SACRAMENTO — Is this what a bottom looks like?
This city was among the first in the nation to fall victim to the real estate collapse. Now it seems to be in the earliest stages of a recovery, a hopeful sign for an economy mired in trouble and anxiety.
Investors and first-time buyers, the traditional harbingers of a housing rebound, are out in force here, competing for bargain-price foreclosures. With sales up 45 percent from last year, the vast backlog of inventory has diminished. Even prices, which have plummeted to levels not seen since the beginning of the decade, show evidence of stabilizing.
Indications of progress are visible in other hard-hit areas, including Las Vegas, parts of Florida and the Inland Empire in southeastern California. Sales in Las Vegas in March, for example, rose 35 percent from last year.

4-Year-Old Injured During Fight
From WPXI-TV, Pittsbugh
COLLIER TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Chuck E. Cheese is a place that promises family fun, but it became a nightmare for one Pittsburgh-area boy.
According to Channel 11 News reporter Kimberly Easton, the boy was hurt while adults fought inside the Chartiers Valley Shopping Center restaurant on March 7.
Dawn Blair, a counselor from the UPMC Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, and Niko Thomas were the two women who started the fight, authorities said.
Authorities said the brawl escalated into a group fight which seriously injured 4-year-old Matthew Thompson.
Matthew suffered a cut and several bruises on his body.
Jason Fonner said he drove the boy and the boy's mother to the restaurant from Wheeling.

exclamation marks - those forms of punctuation derided by the funless and fastidious - are making a comeback, thanks to an Internet renaissance that is bleeding over into every form of written communication. Once it was bad form to end a paragraph with an exclamation mark. Now it's borderline obligatory. Once it was enough to put a sign on your door: "Back in five minutes." Now, without the flourish of an exclamation mark, that sign lacks verve or at least zeitgeisty voguishness. Go figure!

From the exclamation point wiki
An exclamation mark or exclamation point is a punctuation mark: ! It is usually used after an interjection or exclamation to indicate strong feelings or high volume, and often marks the end of a sentence.
The History
The exclamation mark was introduced into English printing in the 15th century, and was called the "note of admiration" until the mid 17th century.[1] In German orthography, the sign made its first appearance in the Luther Bible in 1797.[2]
The mark was not featured on standard manual typewriters before the 1970s. Instead, one typed a full stop, backspaced, and then typed an apostrophe.

From LA TIMES:
It's back to Broadway for the first time in 27 years for Carrie Fisher, who'll open her one-woman memoir-show, "Wishful Drinking," on Oct. 4 for a three-month limited engagement.
Given some of the tipsy contretemps in her yarn, which premiered at the Geffen Playhouse in 2006, it's perhaps fitting that Fisher will be performing at Studio 54, the erstwhile den of disco iniquity that's now a Broadway house run by the Roundabout Theatre Company.
Directing is Tony Taccone, artistic director of Berkeley Repertory Theatre, which staged "Wishful Drinking" last year, then sent Fisher on tour with her quip-filled account of growing up in a dysfunctional Hollywood family (Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds being dad and mom), then going supernova as Princess Leia in "Star Wars." Having hit the boards at regional theaters in Santa Fe, San Jose, Hartford, Washington, D.C., and Boston, she's currently performing "Wishful Drinking" at the Seattle Repertory Theatre, through May 3.
Detroit Ten's She is goign to be at Motor City Comic Con May 16-17 at the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi, MI it at 46100 Grand River Ave.

they have a review of the new Carrie Fisher one woman show "Wishful Drinking" who show is headed for Boradway beging on October.

Here the story from the Stranger
It's not uncommon for bicycles to go missing on the University of Washington campus. Fancy $5,000 road bikes, busted $50 beaters—all of them end up in the hands of thieves, and usually at a faster clip during the summer months, when more people ride instead of drive and bike lifters have plentiful prey. Snipping through cable locks and snatching untended cycles, they make off with about 125 bikes annually, according to UW police.
What is incredibly uncommon is for one of these stolen bikes to be recovered—and even more uncommon is for such a bike to be recovered by a 25-year-old bioengineering grad student who has taken the law into her own hands, stalked her stolen property on Craigslist, jawboned authorities in two states into action, and even tried to set up a Wal-Mart parking-lot sting operation, all to recover a Redline Conquest Pro (a cyclo-cross bike) that she bought used last fall for $850. "I'm not one to give up easily," explained the student, Michelle McCully.

From The AP:
Rep. Corey Holland, R-Marlow, was offended when band member Michael Ivins wore a red T-shirt with a yellow hammer-and-sickle emblem, a traditional symbol of the Communist Party, during a visit to the Capitol last month.
"The great thing about this country is he has the right to make whatever statement he wants to make," Holland said. "I have the right to be offended by that."
The shirt was a Christmas present to Ivins from Coyne's wife, and he wore it to a rehearsal earlier that day, said Coyne, who was offended by Holland's implication that the band is un-American.
Rep. Mike Reynolds, R-Oklahoma City, also denounced Coyne for using an expletive at an event

From The http://www.oklahomarocksong.org/
On April 28 Governor Brad Henry signed an executive order naming "Do You Realize??" by the Flaming Lips the Official Rock Song of Oklahoma. Governor Henry stated “Oklahomans spoke loud and clear in that vote, and I thought it was important to make sure their choice was heard."
"Not only are the Flaming Lips among the most original bands in rock music, they are great ambassadors for Oklahoma. They are fiercely loyal and proud Oklahomans, and their fellow Oklahomans are evidently just as loyal and proud about this Oklahoma born-and-bred group."

Anything that you do, or anyone you interact with, or any kind of behavior that you actually hate...like you forget sometimes that you hate it UNTIL YOU'RE IN THE MIDST OF DOING IT!
Example #1 - A cute little lab mouse that is forced to find his way through a maze to find the chunk of cheese with the electrode in it. The mouse has been shocked by the cheese 100 times and yet, he takes a bite. As his teeth touch the cheese it suddenly occurs that he doesn't want to eat it, he doesn't like to be shocked but too late...ZAPP!!! Shockycheese.
Example # 2 - You hate the owner of a certain espresso company and have decided not to frequent one of his millions of establishments yet due to the convenient location and consistant yumminess of their products you find yourself in line and just after you have placed your order and are handing them your money you remember you hate the owner and do not want to give him anymore of your money it's too late...ZAPP!!! Ben Huh, who bought the “Cheezburger” franchise from its original owners, hopes to create a whole line of similar books. “We’re turning user-generated content into editorial content,” said Mr. Huh, who estimates that his company will generate half a million dollars in revenue from its book deals alone.

Anybody be on the lookout for driffer
who make the indie scene look bad.
From The New York Observer
It’s likely that when Kari Ferrell walked into the Vice magazine offices in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, last month to interview for an administrative assistant job, they thought they’d hit the jackpot. Ms. Ferrell—petite, 22 years old, of Korean heritage—had a huge tattoo of a phoenix across her chest and a cute pixie haircut. She was talkative, funny, charming, adorable. She had a tattoo on her back that read “I Love Beards.” She told them she’d been working for the New York office of the concert promotion company GoldenVoice, which puts on huge rock festivals like Coachella near Palm Springs, Calif., and that she’d moved to New York from Utah just a few months earlier. They hired her on the spot.

KC electronic repo
From The Kansas City Star
With brand names On Time, PassTime and PayTeck, car disablers are wired to the ignition and typically provide motorists three or four days’ warning, with flashing lights (green to amber to red) and quickening chirps as drop-dead payment dates near.
They will not shut down a moving car, manufacturers note, but will render starters silent the morning after the warning light turns red.
For devices that include global-positioning locators, the repo man can home in on where the vehicle sits stalled.
The disabler on Shirley Baucom’s Ford Expedition enabled her to establish a credit history, said Baucum, a grocery cashier in North Kansas City: “I love it. I wish it were on everything — the refrigerator, the stove — to help people remember” when payments are due.
Her payments to the Drive Now lot are due every two weeks, and Baucom said she hasn’t missed one in the four months she’s had the vehicle.
The slow economy has spurred installations, with the buyers’ approval, to get used cars moving off lots, said Don Lavoie, chief executive officer of Sekurus Inc. It makes On Time disablers for 1,200 dealers nationwide.
Hour Three:
TBTL After Hours
And they talk about a play about 80's Music
called "Rock of Ages"
and they talk about Song get better with age.
From The NY TImes:
The champ is unquestionably “Rock of Ages,” a seriously silly, absurdly enjoyable arena-rock musical that thrashed open at the Brooks Atkinson Theater on Tuesday night in front of a bobbing sea of cigarette lighters waved aloft. The frothing piles of pleated, teased, bleached, dyed and fried tresses being tossed around in this new show about the good old days — in this case the 1980s on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles — make “Hair” look tame indeed, virtually Rogaine-ready, the Yul Brynner of musicals.

From Time.com:
You know what's funnier than someone calling themself an "infotainer?" An infotainer ranting about pop-up business cards. Enter Joel Bauer, creator and star of the YouTube clip, "Your Business Card is CRAP!"
"Looks like crap, it is crap," Bauer explains while holding up your average business card, one that creases, tears, and does all sorts of dreadful things that paper is wont to do. "And it's the same size as every other business card you guys just gave me!" (What guys, Bauer never says, and we won't ask, because that hair is scary). As he leans in for the pitch — "I will never make a criticism ... without offering a RE-SO-LU-TION" — things start to get weird(er). While cheesy '80s music plays in the background, Bauer proceeds to hold up what looks like a cardboard CD case. "This is the most impressive business card I've ever seen. It's mine." The card, at 4$ a pop and 25 years in the making, "doesn't fit in a Rolodex because it doesn't belong in a Rolodex.
Are you sold yet? Yeah, neither were we. Incredibly, though, this guy claims that companies from IBM to Walt Disney have paid him to drum up enthusiasm for their products. The Wall Street Journal even ran a piece (in 1998, ahem) about the pitchman's skills at addressing crowds with "just a whiff of cheerful megalomania." Sure, Bauer's probably living in a cardboard box made of $4 business cards (foil-stamped!) right now, but you have to admire the man's spirit. Or maybe just giggle at it. Because life is not about being liked. It's about being effective.
