More info on Art Burt
From Wikipedia

Art Brut are an English and German indie rock band. Their debut album, Bang Bang Rock & Roll, was released on May 30th 2005, with its follow up, It's a Bit Complicated, released on June 25th 2007. Named after French painter Jean Dubuffet's definition of outsider art -- art by prisoners, loners, the mentally ill, and other marginalized people, and made without thought to imitation or presentation -- South London's Art Brut were tagged by NME as part of the "Art Wave" scene that also includes bands such as Athlete, Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party.

Venezuela bans Coke Zero

NOT AWESOME

Oh no Luke will not this when he get back

From the LA TIMES:

Here’s a reversal: A business opportunity has opened up for smugglers interested in getting Coke into a South American country.

But we’re not talking cocaine –- it’s Coke Zero that has been banned in Venezuela.

Perhaps chunky Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez was jealous of trim folks who favored the no-calorie drink, rolled out in 2005 by Coca-Cola Co., and introduced in Venezuela in April. But the official reason, according to the Venezuelan government's news agency, is that health minister Jesus Mantilla contends the beverage, known officially as Coca-Cola Zero, contains a harmful ingredient.

“The product should be withdrawn from circulation to preserve the health of Venezuelans,” Mantilla said Wednesday. In ordering all Coke Zero out of the country, Mantilla didn't specify which ingredient was objectionable.

Coca-Cola's Venezuelan operation put out a statement saying that Coke Zero "doesn't have any components that can be harmful to people's health," but began pulling the drinks today. Coke Zero is bottled by Coca-Cola Femsa, which is based in Mexico.

So keep an eye out for folks buying crates of Coke Zero. They might be getting ready for a foray down south.

$1m mattress dumped by mistake

Worst NOT AWESOME ever!

From UK Metro:

A woman mistakenly threw away a mattress containing her live savings worth almost $1million.
Her awful moment of realisation set off a frantic search through Israeli landfill sites - with no joy so far.

The woman in Tel Aviv said she bought her elderly mother a new mattress as a surprise present and threw out the old one.

Coney Island beach closed due to sewage concerns

NOT AWESOME

From NY NEWSDAY Via AP:

Swimmers are being kept out of the water at

Coney Island and nearby Manhattan Beach because of concerns about a sewage overflow.

The New York City Parks Department posted signs Sunday saying swimming wasn't permitted at the two Brooklyn beaches. But the Coney Island boardwalk remains open, and sunbathing on the sand was allowed.

The city Department of Environmental Protection says ocean water at the two beaches may be contaminated by raw sewage from a sewage treatment plant that overflowed.
